Senior Structural Engineer

Are you a Structural Engineer looking to take the next step in your career, or an experienced professional ready to take on more responsibility? We're supporting a well-established, multi-disciplinary consultancy in Bristol who are looking to expand their structural team. The role can be shaped around you, whether you're developing your design skills, looking to step into project management, or already operating at a senior level.

You will have the opportunity to work across a wide variety of sectors including commercial, retail, education, healthcare, leisure, residential, heritage and green energy projects.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering structural design and analysis across a wide range of projects and sectors
  • Supporting or leading projects from concept through to completion (level of responsibility tailored to your experience)
  • Preparing and reviewing design calculations, drawings, technical reports, and supporting documents
  • Using software such as TEDDS and Tekla Structural Designer to develop accurate models and designs
  • Working collaboratively with clients, contractors, architects, and colleagues
  • Ensuring high standards of health and safety compliance
  • (For senior-level applicants) guiding junior engineers and supporting their technical development

Qualifications

  • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Experience in structural design within the UK (all levels considered)
  • Proficiency in TEDDS, Tekla Structural Designer, or similar tools
  • Strong understanding of UK design standards and project delivery processes
  • Commitment to professional development, whether working towards Chartership or already Chartered
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A valid UK driving licence (desirable)
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK

  • Hours: 37.5 per week Monday-Friday Flexible and Hybrid working
  • Holidays: 25 days + bank holidays (increasing with service)
  • Training: Ongoing support and development, including Chartership mentoring
  • Location: Office-based in Bristol, with occasional travel
