Senior Telecoms Engineer Location: St. Neots, Cambridgeshire Office based: Hybrid working Duration: 12 months+ Contract Position: Outside IR35

Role Overview

We’re looking for a highly experienced and motivated Senior Telecoms Engineer to oversee the design, maintenance, optimisation and implementation of our telecommunications systems.

Key Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and manage telecommunication systems including VoIP, PBX, and unified communication platforms. Monitor and troubleshoot network connectivity, bandwidth, and signal integrity issues. Lead incident response and resolution for telecom outages or service degradation. Collaborate with vendors and carriers for provisioning, upgrades, and support. Document network configurations, changes, and maintenance schedules. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across teams.

Skills & Experience

5+ years of hands-on experience in telecoms engineering or network infrastructure. Deep knowledge of technologies such as SIP, VoIP, MPLS, SD-WAN, and PBX systems. Proficiency with diagnostic tools and performance monitoring software. Familiarity with network security protocols and redundancy planning. Experience managing projects, budgets, and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science or related field. Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent (desirable).
