Permanent About the Role We are looking for a Senior Test and Validation Engineer to join our Powertrain Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and analysing tests on powertrain components and systemsincluding HV battery systems, motors, inverters, and driveline components. Your work will ensure that project requirements are validated and legislative or regulatory certifications are met. Testing may be carried out using in-house facilities, external labs, and on-track proving grounds. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven engineer with a passion for innovation and excellence in the rapidly evolving field of electric vehicle powertrains. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver powertrain testing to validate technical requirements, mitigate risks, and support project milestones. Develop and execute test procedures, ensuring high-quality data collection with clear pass/fail criteria. Coordinate with internal teams and external test facilities to schedule and conduct testing. Organise and prepare test parts, equipment, and instrumentation, ensuring calibration and functionality. Analyse test data and present findings to engineering teams and management. Prepare clear and concise test reports. Contribute to improving data correlation between simulation, test, and track. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and legislative requirements. Support the continuous improvement of RMLs engineering and testing capabilities. What Were Looking For Essential Skills & Experience: Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Motorsport Engineering, or related discipline. 2+ years engineering experience in automotive or motorsport (OEM, Tier 1, or consultancy). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. In-depth knowledge of powertrain systems, especially EV systems. Experience with high-voltage systems (e.g., battery packs, driveline components). Strong understanding of industry standards and regulatory testing guidelines. High-level data analysis and processing skills. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other planning/reporting tools. Flexible, adaptable, and delivery-focused with proven success in high-pressure environments. Desirable Skills & Experience: Masters degree in relevant engineering discipline. Experience in testing ingress protection (IP) ratings. Background in battery design and architectures. Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (e.g., CANbus). Hands-on experience with data analysis tools (MoTeC, Matlab, Excel VBA, Vector tools). Proven ability to resolve issues within a project team environment. Why Join Us?
