Senior/Principal/Associate Civil/Structural Engineer

We are expanding our portfolio in the energy and industrial sectors and seek an experienced Civil or Structural Engineer to join our multidisciplinary Industry and Infrastructure Facilities team. The role involves leading the structural design of buildings within energy and industrial projects, supporting team development, ensuring structural integrity, and optimizing designs.

This primarily office-based role offers hybrid working options and is located in one of our offices in Manchester, London, Leeds, Chester, Southampton, or Bristol. Occasional travel to client and project sites will be required.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and managing structural engineering projects from conception to completion.
• Following project delivery models such as FEED/FEL, DED, OE stages.
• Designing and analyzing structural systems for energy and industrial facilities, including manufacturing buildings, substations, power stations, and infrastructure.
• Conducting structural analysis and detailed design to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with standards.
• Developing innovative engineering solutions to enhance performance and reduce costs.
• Ensuring adherence to relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including architectural, mechanical, electrical, and process engineers.
• Preparing technical reports, documentation, and proposals.
• Mentoring and upskilling junior engineers.
• Keeping abreast of industry trends and technologies.
• Supporting business development and tendering activities.

Qualifications & experience required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or related field.
• Chartered Engineer status with IStructE or ICE.
• Minimum of 7 years (Senior/Principal) or 10 years (Associate) of industry experience in structural engineering, especially in energy and industrial projects including substation design buildings.
• Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations relevant to energy and industrial sectors.

Skills and competencies:

• Strong understanding of structural design principles, materials, and construction methods.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software such as ETABS, TSD, Robot, or similar.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Technical expertise in structural engineering practices.
• Data analysis and structural modeling proficiency.
