Service Engineer - Water Treatment Equipment

We're looking for a motivated and reliable Service Engineer to install, maintain, and repair a range of water treatment units and accessories across the UK. This is a hands-on, field-based role offering variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to work for a market leader in specialist hire solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Installations, Inspections, and Servicing:

* Install and commission water treatment equipment across various sites.
* Carry out preventative maintenance , routine inspections , and servicing both in the depot and on customer sites.
* Ensure all plant is cleaned, tested, labelled, and stored correctly in line with Company standards.
* Keep detailed and accurate records using Company procedures , including PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) tags and workshop logs.
* Maintain clear identification of plant/equipment status for safe hire and storage.
* Handle and dispose of waste materials safely, complying with Environmental Policy .

Breakdowns and Repairs:

* Respond promptly to breakdowns and customer calls, providing minor on site repairs or recommending equipment replacement.
* Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota .
* Assess repairs, parts, and cost-effectiveness, and escalate uneconomical repairs to depot management.
* Complete all necessary documentation for parts used , labour hours, and repair diagnosis.
* Pro actively manage spares and consumable stock, ensuring efficient stock holding and reordering where needed.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

* General mechanical and/or electrical experience relevant to plant hire equipment or water treatment systems.
* Able to perform or learn servicing routines and minor repairs reliably and independently.
* Comfortable with UK-wide travel and overnight stays.
* A serious approach to safety, quality, and accurate record-keeping.
* Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

* NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent technical/vocational qualifications.
* Experience across both mechanical and electrical disciplines.
* Hands-on experience in service, diagnostics, and fault resolution.
