About the Role

Were looking for an experienced and adaptable

Service Engineer / Maintenance Engineer

to join a long-established manufacturing and automation specialist. This role would suit someone with strong

PLC fault-finding and programming experience , who enjoys variety and solving complex issues across different production environments. Youll be part of a friendly, knowledgeable engineering team supporting multiple sites across South Wales and beyond. Youll have access to ongoing technical development, regular training, and plenty of opportunities to broaden your skill set within modern, automated systems. What Youll Be Doing

Carry out both planned and reactive maintenance across a range of electrical and control systems.

Support customers and in-house production teams by diagnosing and resolving equipment faults quickly and effectively.

Provide technical support, fault-finding and upgrades on PLCs and drives (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.).

Install, commission and service electrical and automation equipment on customer sites.

Maintain accurate documentation, including service reports and system backups.

Work collaboratively with other engineers to share best practice and improve reliability across all systems.

Participate in an on-call rota (fairly shared across the team) to support customer uptime.

What Were Looking For

Proven experience in a

maintenance, service, or controls engineering

role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Strong knowledge of

PLC fault-finding, drives, and control systems

(Siemens experience preferred).

Confident reading electrical drawings and diagnosing faults on automated equipment.

Self-motivated problem-solver who can work both independently and as part of a small team.

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally.

HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical / Control Engineering (advantageous but not essential).
