MBDA has a number of unique Simulation Engineer opportunities to join our Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) Team at our Stevenage site.
Salary
Up to £55,000, depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working
Typically, 4 days per week on-site, due to workload classification
Security Clearance
British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. All successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:
As a Simulation Engineer, you will conduct comprehensive missile tests (excluding firing) at MBDA's missile test track. We design complex, real-time simulations involving real missile hardware to enable indoor missile firing tests.
- Build and develop complex, real-time simulations for missile testing.
- Conduct indoor firings and analyse missile performance.
- Adapt to new engineering challenges and understand simulation and missile behaviour.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless integration and debug interfaces.
- Analyse system performance and propose optimisation solutions.
- Apply software design principles for real-time applications.
- Work with Linux OS and programming languages like C/C++.
- Utilise microcontrollers such as Raspberry Pi for system development.
What we're looking for from you:
Broad engineering experience with expertise in some of the following:
- Proven experience in software design for real-time applications.
- Familiarity with Linux operating system.
- Proficiency in C / C++ programming languages.
- Experience with microcontrollers like Raspberry Pi.
- Ability to analyse system performance and suggest optimisation solutions.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of object-oriented approaches to enhance simulation capabilities would be beneficial.
