About the role
Are you ready to build the roads of tomorrow? At Balfour Beatty, we’re delivering vital infrastructure across the UK, and we're currently recruiting a talented Site Engineer to join our Regional Civils team to work on our Lodge Hill A34 project, a new highway scheme set to transform local transport links and unlock regional growth.
As Site Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of this highways project, supporting the site management team in maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and engineering excellence from start to finish.
What you'll be doing
- Assist in planning and executing day-to-day site engineering activities
- Set out and survey for roadworks, drainage, structures, and associated infrastructure
- Ensure work complies with current drawings, specifications, and standards
- Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to maintain efficient site operations
- Maintain accurate site records including as-builts, quality assurance documentation, and method statements
- Support the site team with technical advice and problem-solving
- Promote a culture of health, safety, and environmental compliance
Who we're looking for
You will have the following:
- A degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Proven experience on highways or large-scale civil engineering projects
- Understanding of construction methods, materials, and specifications
- Proficiency in setting out and surveying instruments (e.g., GPS, total stations)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- CSCS card and a full UK driving license
