Overview: We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a major highways scheme in the Manchester area. This is a long-term 12-month contract working for a respected civil engineering contractor delivering road widening, drainage, and general highways improvements as part of a major infrastructure upgrade.

This role is ideal for a Site Engineer with solid highways experience who can take ownership of key sections of work from the groundworks stage through to surfacing.

Key Responsibilities:

Setting out for highways works including kerbing, drainage, earthworks, ducting and pavement construction

*

Ensuring work is carried out to the latest design/specification

*

Carrying out as-builts, surveys, and QA documentation

*

Working closely with site management, subcontractors, and suppliers

*

Coordinating with designers and consultants when required

*

Ensuring health and safety is maintained on site

*

Managing site records and reporting progress to the site agent or project manager

Requirements:

*

HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline

*

Proven experience as a Site Engineer on highways projects

*

Strong setting out skills using GPS, Total Station and AutoCAD

*

Knowledge of Section 278 works and highway specifications (e.g. SHW)

*

Valid CSCS card

*

SSSTS or SMSTS (desirable)

*

Full UK driving licence

*

Right to work in the UK
