Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) DevSecOps | Cloud Engineering | Observability | Production Environments | London
SR2 is supporting a major 3-year programme and looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join the Production Engineering team. This function underpins the reliability, security, and performance of all live environments, from production systems to critical customer deployments. You’ll apply a software engineering mindset to operational problems, building automation, scalability, and resilience into cloud- infrastructure. Beyond supporting live systems, this team also acts as a centre of excellence, guiding project teams in adopting best practices across DevSecOps, observability, and cost optimisation.
This is a 6-month contract (Outside IR35) with long-term extension opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
\n Build, maintain, and support production and demo environments
\n
Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment workflows (Terraform, GitHub Actions, GitOps)
\n
Package and deploy applications to customer environments
\n
Implement and optimise observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki)
\n
Support incident response, monitoring, and backup/recovery planning
\n
Mentor project teams in DevSecOps practices and environment management
\n
Ensure cloud environments are secure, performant, and cost-optimised
\n
Tech Environment & Skills:
\n \n Cloud Engineering: AWS/Azure/GCP, Linux, Terraform (IaC)
\n
\n Containers: Kubernetes, Docker, Helm (OpenShift a plus)
\n
\n Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki (network visualisation desirable)
\n
\n CI/CD & GitOps: GitHub Actions, ArgoCD/Flux
\n
\n Security: Cloud access models, Zero Trust principles
\n
\n Programming: Python or Golang ; Bash scripting
\n
\n Databases & Pipelines: PostgreSQL optimisation, Kafka integration
\n
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues quickly
\n
The Details:
\n \n Contract: 6 months (with extensions across a 3-year programme)

Inside IR35

\n Location: London twice a week (hybrid model)
\n
\n Clearance: SC level may be required depending on deployment
\n
