Software Engineer (AI & Workflow Automation)
We’re SwiftCase. Since 2015, we’ve been obsessed with killing off boring, repetitive work. Dr. Adam Sykes (coder-chemist-coder) and Nik Ellis (serial entrepreneur) built the platform because they couldn’t stand wasting time on stuff that could be automated.
Now, SwiftCase is a serious automation platform trusted by clients across industries. But don’t mistake us for “corporate.” We’re still scrappy, experimental, and happiest when we’re building something new.
Think less buttoned-up consultancy, more hacker garage band, only with customers who actually pay.
What Drives Us
Our motto: automate the tedious, free up time for passion.
That’s true for our clients, and it’s true for us.
We’re research-driven, endlessly curious, and sometimes a little obsessive. We’ll argue about the latest AI paper one day, build a scrappy prototype the next, and ship working code by Friday. Some ideas fail but that’s fine; others stick, and they change everything.
Who You Are
We’re not looking for someone who only knows how to plug tools together or tick Jira boxes. We’re after a builder. The kind of developer who:
- Can’t stop tinkering. You’ve coded side projects just because you couldn’t resist the idea.
- Creates from scratch. You’d rather write it, break it, and rebuild it than just configure someone else’s system.
- Loves the craft. You read about frameworks, libraries, and AI models for fun — not because you have to.
- Sees inefficiency and thinks “I could automate that.”
- Thrives on collaboration. You’ll speak up with ideas, but you’ll listen, too.
In short, you’re a geek in the best possible sense: someone who builds because they can’t help themselves.
Why Join Us
Because here, you’ll get to do exactly that. You’ll work with Adam, push boundaries in AI and automation, and see your ideas go live fast. No layers of management. No committees killing innovation. Just a small, driven team that loves to build.
If you want predictability and endless configuration, look elsewhere. If you want to create the tools others will copy in two years, and do it alongside people just as obsessed as you, this is it.
We're building voicebots for the UK's insurance & claims industries, so we need native, fluent English speakers. We also meet on the Wirral or Liverpool every other month so you must be happy to pop over.
If that sounds like you, let’s talk...
