Software Engineer – National Security Projects

• Salary: £42,000 – £62,000 DOE

Our client, a specialist digital consultancy supporting national security and defence programmes, is expanding its engineering team in Gloucester. With a strong focus on secure data processing and cloud-based solutions, they deliver mission-critical software for government clients in highly sensitive environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, and document software components
• Analyse and resolve code defects with timely fixes
• Estimate development effort and contribute to planning
• Work on AWS cloud infrastructure and data processing pipelines
• Mentor junior developers and support an agile delivery team

Skills & Experience

• Experience in back-end languages: Java, C++, Node.js, Python
• Experience with a consulting organisation
• Experience or interest in cloud technologies (AWS, Docker, microservices)
• Strong problem-solving mindset and eagerness to learn
• Collaborative team player with agile delivery experience
