Software Engineer role at Funding Circle UK

We are seeking a proactive and curious Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of Funding Circle’s FlexiPay & Card products. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a vital role in building and scaling our products, empowering businesses to access flexible financing solutions. Your passion for technology and your ability to solve complex problems will be instrumental in driving our mission forward.

The role

Collaborate as part of an agile cross-functional team and technology guilds. Build great user experiences for customers, internal and external. Deliver innovation through software to automate processes that enable Funding Circle to operate at scale. Use Python, React, Terraform & Kafka. Work with containerised, serverless and event-driven architectures. Proactively problem solve, identify and confidently mitigate risks, issues or control weaknesses that arise in day-to-day work.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating as part of an agile cross-functional team and technology guilds
• Building great user experiences for customers, internal and external
• Delivering software-driven automation to enable scalable operations
• Using Python, React, Terraform & Kafka
• Working with containerised, serverless and event-driven architectures
• Proactively problem solving, identifying and mitigating risks, issues or control weaknesses

What we’re looking for

• Experience in Python on the server side and Javascript/React on the frontend
• Experience or interest in serverless architectures
• Knowledge of AWS serverless technologies (API Gateway, Lambda, Cognito, DynamoDB)
• Experience with Terraform
• Openness to learn and work with different technologies
• Good communication skills, both written and spoken
• Knowledge of Agile, TDD and CI/CD
• Interest or experience in distributed systems or event-driven architectures with Kafka
