The Opportunity

The care sector is being transformed by technology, and we're looking for a Software Engineer to build a key part of this transformation. You'll drive the implementation of features for Found OS, our next-generation SaaS platform that's revolutionising care home management. You'll work on the system that helps care providers manage enquiries, track occupancy, handle billing, and deliver better care to residents across the UK.

This is a hands-on role where you'll contribute to technical excellence while shipping fast. You'll work across our full stack (TypeScript, Node.js, React, Kubernetes), and experiment extensively with AI. We value outcomes over output and you'll focus on solving real problems for care providers, not just writing code.

Responsibilities

  • Building high-impact features for FoundOS, collaborating closely with your cross-functional team
  • Writing clean, well-tested code that ships daily
  • Collaborating with Product and Design to contribute to feature decisions based on care provider needs and business outcomes
  • Experimenting with AI tools and integrations to enhance workflows and productivity
  • Contributing to our platform evolution and improving developer experience
  • Contributing to our engineering culture of continuous improvement

What problems will you be solving?

  • Revolutionising care management with AI—automating mundane tasks, providing intelligent transcriptions, and offering predictive analysis
  • Building the operational backbone of care homes—enquiry tracking, occupancy, and billing modules
  • Connecting the fragmented care ecosystem through integrations with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage) and care planning systems
  • Informing strategic decisions with data—comprehensive reporting and analytics dashboards

We think you’ll be a great fit if…

  • You have 1-4 years of hands-on software engineering experience with strong TypeScript skills and full-stack development
  • You're product-minded and translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • You write clean, tested, maintainable code and believe in continuous improvement
  • You're obsessed with AI and actively experiment with LLMs and AI-driven productivity improvements
  • You're autonomous but collaborative, capable of seeing tasks through to completion
  • You ship fast and iterate, focusing on learning speed
  • You're curious about eldercare and the mission to transform how families access care
  • You're eager to learn and stay current with technology trends, especially in AI and web development

Sound like you but not 100%? Apply anyway—we're looking for potential and passion, not a perfect CV match.

This role isn’t for you if…

  • Our mission to elevate later life care doesn’t resonate with you
  • You prefer isolation over collaboration in a fast-paced team
  • You're uncomfortable with ambiguity or prefer detailed specifications over problem-solving
  • You haven't embraced AI tools in your development workflow
  • You prioritize perfect architecture over shipping working software
  • You want to specialise in a single area (e.g., pure backend or pure frontend)
