About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Junior Software Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a variety of projects that involve both front-end and back-end development, primarily utilizing React, React Native, and JavaScript. The successful candidate will be involved in developing secure, user-friendly applications that support our clients\' event management needs. This position is ideal for someone eager to grow their technical skills in a real-world environment, with ample opportunities for paid training, mentorship, and professional development. You will work closely with project managers, senior developers, and clients, providing technical support, troubleshooting, and implementing solutions that have a tangible impact on end-users. The role requires some UK travel to client sites, making it suitable for individuals who enjoy a dynamic, client-facing work environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess solid foundational skills in JavaScript and React, with some experience or familiarity with React Native. A good understanding of HTML, CSS, and REST API integration is essential. Additional knowledge of AWS, SQL, and Git workflows will be advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a proactive attitude towards learning new technologies and processes, such as CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies. Effective communication skills are vital, as the role involves engaging directly with clients to understand their needs and provide technical support. A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle are required, given the travel component of the role. While prior experience in a commercial setting is preferred, we welcome applications from enthusiastic individuals eager to develop their skills in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
The Junior Software Engineer will be responsible for a range of tasks, including developing and maintaining front-end and back-end components using JavaScript, React, and React Native. You will support app builds, deployments, and integrations, ensuring smooth delivery and functionality of solutions. Collaborating with cross-functional teams—including project managers, designers, and senior developers—will be a key aspect of your role, facilitating effective communication and project execution. Handling customer feedback and technical queries directly will also be part of your responsibilities, helping to enhance user experience and client satisfaction. Additionally, you will participate in travel to client sites across the UK, providing on-site support, demonstrations, and training as needed. Your role will also involve staying updated with industry best practices, contributing to technical documentation, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
Benefits
Pathfinder offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your professional growth and personal well-being. You will receive paid training and mentorship to help you advance your technical skills and career. The role features a hybrid working model, providing flexibility between remote work and on-site presence. You will have the opportunity to work on varied, client-facing projects, gaining diverse experience and exposure to different industry challenges. We also promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment, encouraging innovation and knowledge sharing. Additional benefits include competitive salary packages, performance bonuses, and opportunities for career progression within the company. We are committed to investing in our employees and fostering a positive, engaging workplace culture.
