This role offers the opportunity to lead and scale identity and risk management systems that support millions of users in a high-growth, global financial technology environment. As a Staff Engineer and Team Lead, you will own the architecture and implementation of critical backend services while mentoring engineers and influencing product strategy. You will work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment, solving complex technical challenges and driving initiatives with global impact. This role demands technical excellence, strategic thinking, and the ability to balance immediate delivery with long-term architectural vision. The position is highly autonomous, allowing you to shape solutions and define goals while contributing to the evolution of the identity platform.

Accountabilities

  • Own end-to-end architecture for the identity suite, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and modularity
  • Lead technical planning, sprint scoping, and alignment with cross-functional product teams
  • Mentor and guide senior and mid-level engineers, promoting best practices and engineering standards
  • Set and uphold standards for code quality, observability, performance, and reliability
  • Contribute to core systems that enable global financial identity verification and risk management
  • Implement backend services and design architecture for high reliability and automation
  • Take proactive ownership of tasks, address technical challenges, and propose innovative solutions
  • Participate in code reviews, incident troubleshooting, and on-call support as required

Requirements

  • 10+ years of backend engineering experience, with 4+ years in a lead or team lead role
  • Proven expertise designing and scaling complex distributed systems, preferably in Go
  • Experience managing and maintaining large codebases and microservices architectures
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms, ideally Google Cloud Platform
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies, especially Kubernetes
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience mentoring engineers and leading cross-functional projects
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset, with a preference for simple, elegant solutions
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, flexible implementations
