In this role, you will contribute to the development of a high-performance, scalable global lending platform used by banks, fintechs, and marketplaces. You will work closely with product and engineering teams to design and implement robust, event-driven microservices that meet high standards of security, availability, and performance. Accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain Java-based applications for the lending platform, leveraging AWS cloud services.
  • Participate in technical analysis and translate product requirements into scalable solutions.
  • Design, implement, and optimize microservices and event-driven architectures, addressing distributed transaction challenges.
  • Collaborate in architectural decisions and provide guidance on best practices.
  • Manage infrastructure using Terraform for provisioning and removal of AWS resources.
  • Monitor applications using metrics and logs via tools such as Grafana, ensuring reliability and performance.
  • Contribute to a culture of quality, observability, and continuous improvement across the team.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant software development experience, primarily in Java.
  • Experience with AWS services (AWS certification is mandatory).
  • Strong understanding of event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices.
  • Experience with testing strategies including unit, integration, and load testing.
  • Knowledge of Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, and API specifications (Postman, OpenAPI/Swagger) is advantageous.
  • Ability to design architectural solutions and optimize cloud-based databases (DynamoDB experience a plus).
  • Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Must be based in the United Kingdom.
  • Previous experience in financial services is a plus.
