Staff Software Engineer
New Today
Overview
We’re fixing the most broken process in business. Whether it’s SaaS, hardware, or contractors, a typical B2B purchase drags on for 3+ months, spawns 50+ emails, and pulls in multiple stakeholders across Finance, Legal, Security, and IT. Nobody likes it, and it slows businesses down.
Omnea exists to change that. Our AI-native platform connects the people, steps, and systems so buying just works. Employees have one place to make requests, the right approvals run automatically, renewals and supplier risk checks are handled on time, and leaders get clear visibility into how, when, and why money is being spent.
This matters more now than ever: volatile markets demand capital efficiency, businesses who adopt AI quickly have a competitive advantage, and evolving regulation demands evidenceable controls—so buying has to be fast and compliant by default.
Founded in 2022, we’re trusted by global enterprises and have raised $75M from leading investors. Our team previously built Tessian (backed by Sequoia; acquired by Proofpoint) and we’re growing to scale as a category of AI Supplier Relationship Management.
We’re looking for an exceptional, product-minded software engineer to join our engineering team and help scale Omnea with us. Our team will grow from low double-digit to 200+ enterprise customers and through 10x revenue growth in the next 2-3 years. You will support us in driving the growth of our product, team, and company through each chapter as we go from ‘start-up’ to ‘scale-up’.
You’ll be joining us at a pivotal time. We’ve just raised $50M in Series B funding and have shown strong growth with high retention among major customers. Our team is small but high-calibre, and we’re scaling fast to build the category of AI Supplier Relationship Management. We are looking for the best software engineers to help turn procurement into a true competitive advantage.
We care more about skills than years of experience, but for calibration, typically we’d expect candidates at this level to have around 8-10+ years of software engineering experience. Senior and Principal level roles are open if this role is not the right level for you.
What Can You Expect in our Tech team?
- Join a Skilled Team. You’ll become part of one of Europe’s fastest growing early-stage companies, working with experienced full-stack product engineers who have performed at top tech companies.
- Direct Product Impact. You will be involved in key product decisions, including prioritising roadmap, defining project scopes, and technical direction, with influence on strategy, UX, and feasibility.
- Work with Modern Tech. The stack includes Typescript, React, Material UI, Postgres, Hasura, and AWS Serverless technologies (Lambda, DynamoDB, EventBridge), managed via AWS CDK & SST. Observability tools include Sentry, Lumigo, and LogRocket; CI/CD via GitHub Actions.
- End-to-end Ownership. You will own projects from product and design through deployment and measurement, across the stack, including DevOps and styling.
- Continuous Delivery. We deploy small, incremental changes to production multiple times per day to stay agile and responsive.
- Tackle Scalability Challenges. As we grow, you’ll help scale product, architecture, and processes while maintaining performance and reliability.
- Collaboration & Autonomy. You’ll work autonomously but with a supportive, collaborative team culture.
- Customers at the Centre. We prioritise customer feedback and iterate on products to delight users.
About You
- You’re experienced (not a hard rule, but typically 8-10+ years) with building web apps and delivering features end-to-end, ideally full-stack with TypeScript and AWS.
- You focus on having a high impact. You’ve led engineering of critical systems and want to bring those capabilities to an early-stage startup.
- You know what good looks like. You build reliable, well-architected products with quality, observability, and redundancy in mind.
- You’re ready to get a lot done. You enjoy across-the-stack work, problem-solving, and rapid learning.
- You’re someone who craves ownership. You’re keen to take on significant engineering challenges and opportunities to grow DevOps or SRE capabilities.
- You’re a team builder. You collaborate, provide constructive feedback, and help elevate others around you.
- You’re comfortable with ambiguity. You can navigate uncertain definitions and still make decisions with the team’s support.
Nice to haves that really stand out to us
- You’ve excelled in another arena (academic, sports, etc.). Going above and beyond is valued.
- You love engineering. You’ve contributed to open-source or side projects and enjoy solving ambiguous problems with high-quality code.
At Omnea, we embrace diversity. We encourage applications from all backgrounds and perspectives, and we welcome you to apply even if your experience doesn’t match the full job spec. We value equal opportunity in hiring.
