Job Description
Structural Technical Engineer – Up to £55,000 + Excellent Benefits – Malton (Hybrid/Remote Options)
Are you a Structural Engineer who’s tired of being boxed in? This isn’t a draughtsman role. It’s a genuine structural engineering position where your designs will shape some of the UK’s most recognisable buildings.
Why this role?
- Impactful Work – From composite flooring on landmark projects to secondary steel systems for major commercial buildings, your calculations and solutions will keep structures standing against wind, snow, and time.
- Career Progression Without the Title Barrier – You don’t need to be “senior” already. If you’ve got strong experience and ambition, this role gives you the platform to step up.
- Hybrid/Remote Flexibility – Ideal if you’re local to Sherburn, but flexibility is available for the right person (with full induction and ongoing support).
- Supportive Leadership – You’ll be joining a tight-knit team led by a manager who protects his engineers, encourages collaboration, and gives you space to grow.
- Global Brand, Long-Term Security – Excellent retention, exposure to industry conferences, and opportunities across the wider group.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing and specifying secondary steelwork and structural products for commercial/public buildings.
- Producing structural calculations and CAD drawings to UK codes (Eurocodes, BS).
- Answering technical queries and presenting solutions directly to clients and stakeholders.
- Supporting sales teams with BOMs and technical input.
- Representing the business at industry events and conferences.
What We’re Looking For
- Structural or Civil Engineering background (degree , but experience counts).
- Strong knowledge of UK structural codes and standards.
- CAD experience (Tekla/CAD transferable). S-Frame training provided.
- Comfortable with client interaction and balancing multiple projects.
- Based within commuting distance of Malton OR capable of hybrid/remote working with autonomy.
Package & Benefits
- Salary up to £55,000 depending on experience.
- 24–27 days holiday (depending on service) + bank holidays.
- 5% employer pension contribution.
- Income protection insurance & death in service cover.
- Aviva Digicare+ (wellbeing support & fast-track GP).
- Bonus scheme (non-contractual).
- Long service awards, enhanced maternity/paternity/adoption pay.
- Free parking, eye tests, flu jabs, social events, and more.
