Overview
Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, has an opportunity for a Supplier Compliance Engineer to join our growing team and cover our Anglia, London, and occasionally supporting within UK region of suppliers. This will be a remote role when you aren't with suppliers.
Ontic is a community of innovators who foster a culture where talent thrives, ideas flourish, and careers are built. We are committed to excellence and continuous improvement to remain at the forefront of our industry.
What will you be doing?
- Oversee compliance and quality within the Ontic Supply Chain, including approval of suppliers and monitoring supplier adherence to regulatory standards.
- Conduct product and system audits (internal and external) to assess the technical and process capabilities of potential and existing suppliers.
- Work with internal colleagues to suggest corrective actions and address product discrepancies, while preventing future re-occurrence of problems.
- Manage additional quality projects and support Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Travel frequently across the designated areas (Anglia and London); travel may involve overnight stays (funded by the business) within the UK and occasional overseas travel to the USA, Europe, and Asia for longer periods. You may also need to visit Staverton or Cheltenham offices for essential meetings.
What will you need to know?
- Experience performing to AS9100/AS9102 standards. We will support development by providing assistance to obtain a Lead Auditor qualification.
- Subject matter expert in quality engineering principles and regulatory administration in areas such as Part 21, Part 145, ISO 9001, Corrective Action Response (CAR), and Root Cause Investigation Techniques.
- Ideally experience in Supplier Quality Engineering, but applications from Auditors with exposure to supplier relationships who want to transition into a pure SQE role are welcome.
