Supplier Quality Engineer

We are recruiting for our client based in the UK for a Supplier Quality Engineer, with significant travel to mainland Europe and the option to work from home.
The role involves assisting in the selection, development, management, and assurance of defect-free performance of the Distribution Business' supplier base, aiming for overall quality improvement. You will also resolve supplier quality issues.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Participating in supplier evaluation, selection, and strategic sourcing process development.
- Assisting in the supplier corrective action process, including containment, root cause investigation, and corrective actions.
- Ensuring suppliers effectively use quality tools.
- Working with suppliers to meet all product requirements.
- Reviewing supplier quality resources for new product introductions and current products to reduce issues, improve processes, and ensure timely launches.
- Determining if all requirements are met by suppliers for new or changed products.
- Measuring supplier quality performance and driving improvements to meet targets.
- Facilitating continuous improvement activities to reduce defects.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Understanding of PPAP (Product Parts Approval Process).
- Exposure to AIAG standards.
- Experience with supplier quality core tools and IATF auditor credentials preferred.
- Strong APQP skills.
- Supplier maintenance experience.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
This is a 12-month temporary role starting immediately, with potential extension. Applicants must have a valid passport or visa for travel to mainland Europe.
