Systems Engineer – Directed Energy Weapons I’m working on a genuinely unique opportunity for a talented Systems Engineer to join a high-impact, high-visibility programme delivering the UK’s next generation Laser Directed Energy Weapon (LDEW). If you’re a Systems Engineer who thrives in fast-paced, agile environments and wants to be involved in one of the most high profiles projects in the UK defence area. This systems engineer role will be joining a dedicated team that focuses on Laser or optical systems and has direct customer engagement, real tech challenges, and the chance to get stuck into everything from early requirements through to delivery and trials. It’s hands-on, delivery-focused work in a secure environment, ideal for someone who’s done the early-stage design grind and wants to see capability come to life. The successful Systems Engineer will be:
Working across the full lifecycle: requirements, architecture, design, V&V, certification in a laser or optical systems environment.
