About the role

As a system engineer, you will play a crucial role in our Hybrid Cloud POD, supporting mission-critical infrastructure for Ensono’s clients. Your expertise will be instrumental in resolving complex technical client incidents and problems, delivering a responsive and remarkable service that our clients rely on. This role is ideal for someone with a solid grounding in Windows systems who is enthusiastic to expand their skills in a collaborative environment. Experience with Linux and AWS would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for Ensono client environments, resolving incidents and service requests escalated.
  • Perform problem management, helping to identify and tackle critical and recurring issues.
  • Support the change management process, including drafting and implementing changes under guidance.
  • Perform administration and troubleshooting of Windows Server environments.
  • Gain experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware, AWS, and Azure).
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery exercises alongside senior engineers.
  • Support post-incident reviews and root cause analysis for client reporting.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams, escalating issues when required.
  • Continue developing technical expertise through training, mentorship, and exposure to clients.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota, if required.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Possess a strong understanding of Windows server administration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in Linux server administration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with AWS environments.
  • Additional preferred knowledge: Azure, VMware, networking, and storage area networks.
  • Knowledge of ITIL and its function within IT.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Analytical mindset with a willingness to learn and grow.

Experience

  • 1-2 years of experience in a systems engineer role (Windows/Linux/AWS).
  • Experience working within a managed services environment is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of working in an ITIL environment.

Certifications

  • Engineering certification in Microsoft, Red Hat, AWS, or Azure is desirable.
  • ITIL Foundation.
