Our business continues to win and retain prestigious contracts, with clients valuing our multi-disciplinary, client focused team.In this role as a Solutions Engineer, you will prepare accurate proposal costs and customer quotations of ‘Standard’ and ‘Non-Standard’ new primarily Electrical packages to existing and new customers.You will know what it takes to build and maintain strong and successful business relationships and providing the highest level of service to customers to drive forward and deliver great results. As you will be dealing with technically and commercially astute procurement professionals within organisations, it is imperative that you build and maintain accounts to gain success.You will also support other Sales Team Members when required with any quotations, technical and site support.ResponsibilitiesPrepare accurate proposal costs and quotations for existing and new customers on a national basisBuild on customer relationshipsWork with other team members to ensure quotes are produced to time and specificationDevelop relationships with key suppliersSupport the overall solutions team generally by taking enquiries and producing quotations during other dept staff absence or when requestedLiaise with the Sales Team and Project Managers, other departments and Customers to ensure proposal deadlines are met and are costed accurately, including obtaining accurate lead times for equipment to be supplied through our supply chainCommunicate to Customers areas where we deviate from Customer requirements, ensuring they understand the full scope of our quotations, and any alternatives offered to mitigate deviations, including discussions and negotiations with Customers on terms of businessWork to achieve annual Sales Targets set by Management TeamProduce quotations at company agreed margins unless by prior discussion with Management TeamAttend Sales MeetingsRequired Skills and ExperienceA natural ability to build added value relationships creatively with key business contacts at Buyer and specifier levelElectrical and/or Mechanical Product ExperienceEstimating /solutions sales experience at SME level or above from Commercial, Private or Public Sector backgroundsExperience of working within a target driven and performance related environmentExposure to tendering processes and re-tenders to retain and secure contractsThe ability to create proposals by harnessing knowledge, sponsorship and buying from internal and external customersHigh degree of computer literacy with strong Microsoft Excel knowledgeStrong analytical and mathematical ability, with excellent commercial acumenA background in Diesel Generators or Engineering is advantageousWhat we can offer you33 Days Holiday including Bank HolidaysMobile phone and laptopCompany Contributory PensionExtra Company Perks & AwardsAbout DTGenAt DTGen, part of Flogas, everyone is welcome.
