Transmission and Distribution Interface Engineer

Managing the boundary between transmission and distribution electricity networks is a crucial role for National Grid. The Transmission Distribution Interface Team, a newly formed group within National Grid DSO, focuses on how we work across the entire electricity system. An opportunity has arisen for a DSO Transmission Distribution Interface Engineer based at Tipton, Bristol, Cardiff, or Castle Donington.

The team is responsible for the technical and contractual analysis of Grid Supply Points, reviewing incoming Modification Offers, and developing coherent site strategies. With increasing demand due to electrification and renewable energy uptake, this role involves liaising with NESO, NGET, and internal stakeholders to develop a safe, secure, and cost-efficient network.

This role reports to the Head of Transmission Distribution Interface within the DSO directorate. It offers a hybrid working model, with two days in the office and three days remote, post-training. The successful candidate may initially be appointed at a lower salary until training is completed.
