Job title: Undergraduate Air Human Factors Engineer

Location: Warton/Samlesbury (Lancashire)

Contract length: 12 months

Start date: 22nd June 2026

Working arrangement: Hybrid and flexible working; attendance on site 3-5 days per week.

Salary: £24,300

Description: Length of placement: 12 months

Responsibilities

  • Human Factors (HF) engineers support the end-to-end design and development of systems and services through the application of scientific knowledge and experience.
  • Optmise the interaction between the system and end users to enable effective and efficient mission achievement.
  • Work with a team of HF practitioners across a variety of crewed and un-crewed platforms, gathering assessment data, supporting analysis, and documenting results.
  • Collaborate with engineers from other areas of the business to gain a broad understanding of challenges in complex integrated air systems.

Qualifications

As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in either Human Factors, Ergonomics, Engineering Product Design, UX, Psychology or STEM subject.

About the team

The Air Team has a heritage in the development, manufacture, upgrade and support of combat and fast jet trainer aircraft. We operate globally, supporting design, production and provision of aircraft including Typhoon, F-35 and Tempest.
