Overview

Undergraduate Electronic Systems Software Engineer – Location: Rochester (Kent). Length of placement: 12 months. Start date: 22 June 2026. Salary: £24,300. Hybrid and flexible working arrangements available; role requires attendance on site 4 days per week.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Work closely with Electronic and Systems engineers to enable the development of complex safety-critical software for real-world systems that must perform perfectly every time.
• Be allocated into a project and contribute as a Software Engineer within the team.
• Contribute to addressing engineering issues on a programme and work across the full software lifecycle within product development.
• Prepare engineering data information, meeting and briefing notes, reports, presentations, and perform cost, schedule and risk analysis.
• Support local STEM initiatives.

Qualification Requirements

As a minimum, you’ll need to be on track to obtain a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any STEM-related field.
