We are currently seeking a WAN Engineer to join our growing technology team. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining wide area network (WAN) infrastructure to support our various accounting operations across multiple locations. As a WAN Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in network technology to ensure that our WAN architecture is reliable, efficient, and secure. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand their networking needs and translate those into robust infrastructure solutions. In addition to problem-solving and technical responsibilities, you will also be responsible for monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, and recommending improvements, ensuring that all aspects of our WAN are functioning optimally. You will play a crucial role in integrating new technologies that enhance our accounting practices, improve data accessibility, and foster collaboration among our teams. Responsibilities
- Design and implement WAN architecture to meet organizational needs.
- Monitor WAN performance using advanced network management tools.
- Troubleshoot WAN connectivity issues and resolve them in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Ensure the security and integrity of the WAN infrastructure against potential threats.
- Perform regular WAN maintenance and upgrades to ensure optimal performance.
- Document network configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a WAN Engineer or similar role in a professional environment.
- Deep understanding of network protocols and services such as MPLS, BGP, and OSPF.
- Experience with WAN optimization technologies and strategies.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in a WAN environment.
- Certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
