Water Hygiene Engineer
Location: London & Surrounding Areas Employment Type: Permanent / Full-time
Overview: We are seeking a skilled and proactive Water Hygiene Engineer to join our team, carrying out a range of water hygiene, testing, and remedial works across commercial and residential sites in London and the surrounding areas. You will play a vital role in maintaining compliance with ACOP L8 and HSG274 standards, helping to ensure safe and efficient water systems for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:

Carry out on-site water hygiene tasks, including temperature monitoring, system flushing, and sampling.
*
Undertake on-site analysis of water systems and interpret test results accurately.
*
Perform cleaning and disinfection of cold-water storage tanks and associated systems.
*
Conduct flushing, testing, and chemical dosing of heating and chilled water systems.
*
Collect and deliver water samples to UKAS-accredited laboratories in line with company procedures.
*
Complete service reports and logbooks accurately and in a timely manner.
*
Liaise professionally with clients and site contacts, providing clear updates on findings and recommendations.
*
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, and all relevant water hygiene regulations.
Requirements:
*
Proven experience working as a Water Hygiene Engineer or in a similar role within the water treatment industry.
*
Knowledge of ACOP L8, HSG274 Part 2, and water safety legislation.
*
Competent in carrying out system flushing, sampling, and temperature monitoring.
*
Full UK driving licence (company van provided).
*
Excellent attention to detail, communication, and time management skills.
*
Flexibility to travel throughout London and nearby counties.
Desirable:
*
NVQ Level 2 or above in Plumbing or equivalent qualification.
*
Experience with closed system analysis and dosing.
*
Confined space and working at height certification (advantageous).
