As a Welding Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development and application of different joining technologies required for BIW manufacturing. Ensuring that all joining methods are applicable under plant conditions. Your expertise will ensure the quality and performance of all joining solutions. Working closely with cross-functional teams across Manufacturing, Product Engineering and Materials Engineering, you will play a key role in shaping the future of joining technology applications. Our current portfolio of joining technologies includes MIG, LASER, Self-Piercing Riveting, Resistance Spot Welding, Adhesive, and Flow Drive Screw, among others. We continuously evaluate joining methods to meet production demands, review product developments, and explore new materials and novel joining methods to advance production capabilities. Key Responsibilities: Develop new joining technology from concept level to Industrial readiness level. Independently plan and execute experiments, trials, analyse data and report the results. Review existing joining processes and find out opportunities for reducing CO2e footprint.
