Workshop Foreman Role Summary

The Workshop Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining our range of machinery at the Hemel Hempstead depot. The primary objective is to ensure all equipment remains in optimal working condition through scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections. Key Responsibilities

Diagnose, investigate, and resolve technical issues reported by customers.

Perform general engineering duties, including work at height, beneath, and within all our clients machinery.

Carry out repairs and maintenance using company-supplied lifting equipment.

Safely drive and maneuver machines in and around the workshop.

Conduct routine servicing on a wide variety of machinery.

Work independently to troubleshoot and solve mechanical or technical problems.

Complete job cards, paperwork, and timesheets accurately and within set timeframes.

Request required parts promptly and efficiently.

Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal teams and external customers.

Supervise other workshop engineers when required, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.

Provide cover for the Workshop Foreman during absence or annual leave.

Assist with booking machinery in and out of the workshop.

Prepare machines for transport and collection.

Ensure compliance with company procedures during repairs and inspections.

Verify that all personal and workshop equipment meets required safety standards.

Manage the return of warranty parts to the Parts Department.

Adhere to all corporate policies, procedures, and Health & Safety requirements.

Promote teamwork and effective communication to contribute to the overall success of our client.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and workshop housekeeping.

Present a professional image at all times.

Ensure personal tools are safe, compliant, and legal for use.

Use only company-provided lifting equipment (e.g., straps, trolley jacks, etc.).

Remain flexible and adaptable to all aspects of the role.
