Role The CE&I Engineer will be responsible for producing design studies and manufacturing designs for NSG projects. The engineer will work within a multi-discipline design team and be responsible for undertaking the design of equipment as delegated by the Integration Manager and/or Project Manager. Key Objectives – EC&I Delivery Production of CE&I design concepts, e.g. SLDs, BCDs, cable schedules, layouts, etc.Knowledge of control system hardware and software.Experience in Functional Safety (BSEN 61508 & 61511).Produce designs that conform to the relevant British and European standards and client requirements.Produce and maintain an LTQR / Technical File in accordance with NSG Quality Management Systems.Ensure that the design addresses operability, maintainability, and safety issues.Produce designs that meet with project programmes and budgets.Produce design justification reports that demonstrate the design mitigates all technical risks identified.Production of functional safety and controls design documentation including FDS, SIDD and Functional Safety Plan.Produce a level of information (drawings, specifications, works instructions, etc) that enable manufacturing to take place.Check in-house and subcontract drawing documentation.Production of CE&I technical specifications.Production of Commissioning documentation, e.g. FAT and SAT.Subcontract supplier management.Attendance and witnessing of Commissioning activities.Interpretation and creation of EC&I engineering drawings using AutoCAD.EC&I design experience required.Safety interlock design experience preferred.Ability to author engineering reports (basis of design, substantiation report, calculation reports).HVAC control systems experience is highly desirable. Technical Competency Ensure personal, professional, technical and engineering competency through continuing professional development.Understand the technical aspects of a project and develop design and engineering solutions with our in house specialists or supply chain support as necessary.Consolidation and collation of design and engineering documentation for internal approvals and presentation to the client as necessary. Person Specification Qualifications Relevant Engineering Degree, HNC or demonstrable equivalent experience.IOSH Managing Safely or Level 2 Health & Safety in the Workplace or equivalent. Experience & Knowledge Broad based engineering experience in design and manufacturing.Design of electrical systems.Low voltage control gear.Control systems.
