We're looking for an experienced Acoustic / Audio Research Engineer to join a world-class audio research team, shaping the next generation of AR/VR experiences. You'll be working onsite in Cambridge, in one of the most advanced audio labs in the world.
The Offer
Annual Salary up to £84,000 (paid weekly)
12-month PAYE contract (inside IR35) + possibility of extension
Fully onsite, Cambridge
What You'll Bring
Master's/PhD in a relevant technical field with 3+ years in audio technology R&D
Strong track record in designing and running audio/acoustic experiments in labs
Hands-on skills with Python, MATLAB, or MaxMSP for audio applications - must have
Deep knowledge of acoustics and audio signal processing
Nice to Have
Real-time audio coding (C/C++)
Experience with psychoacoustics, spatial/room acoustics, auditory perception
Exposure to prototype devices, motion tracking, ML frameworks (PyTorch)
Your Day-to-Day
Design and run experiments with advanced audio capture systems and prototype devices
Collect, process, and analyse acoustic data in custom lab environments
Build tools and algorithms to support experiments
Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of world-leading researchers
Document your findings in technical reports
