Role Description
This is an on-site / remote contract role located in China for an Advanced Chemical Materials Engineer. The Advanced Chemical Materials Engineer will be responsible for conducting research and development (R&D) in the field of materials science. Daily tasks include material selection, investigating material properties, and assisting in the development of new materials. The role will also involve working closely with metallurgy experts to enhance existing materials and processes. The applicant has no work experience in China or has worked in China for no more than 12 months.
Qualifications

- Knowledge and expertise in Metallurgy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work on-site / Remotely in China
- PHD Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
- Previous experience in the manufacturing or chemical industries is a plus
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in high-performance polymers, specialty plastics, or advanced chemical materials (e.g., PEEK, PI, degradable polymers, electronic-grade chemicals).
- Familiarity with polyolefins (PE/PP), synthetic rubber development, or polymer reagent purification.
- Proven track record in R&D, production scale-up, or quality control of advanced materials.
- Strong knowledge of polymerization processes, compounding, and modification technologies.
- Experience with polymer analysis, characterization instruments (DSC, TGA, GPC, FTIR, SEM, etc.).
- Understanding of material performance evaluation for applications in electronics, aerospace, medical, or energy industries.
- Awareness of sustainability trends, including degradable and recyclable materials.
- Strong problem-solving and innovation ability in material solutions.
- Good project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in both written and spoken form (English proficiency preferred).
- High attention to detail, quality, and compliance with industry standards.
