Job Description:
Your impact
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated AI Systems Engineer with expertise in neural networks (CNNs or SNNs), machine learning algorithms, and Python programming. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing, deploying, and optimising machine learning models, with a strong focus on deep learning frameworks which can perform functions such as – but not limited to – detection, tracking and classification.
Advance infrared event driven sensing capabilities utilising spiking neural networks
Design, develop and optimise neural network architectures
Implement and test machine learning models using Python and libraries such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
Collaborate with teams of multidisciplinary engineers (e.g. hardware, firmware and software) to build scalable AI solutions which can be exploited in products including edge devices rather than cloud-based applications.
Use synthetic data generation tools to produce datasets suitable for training and testing algorithms.
Clean, preprocess, and analyse large datasets for model training and validation.
Continuously improve model accuracy, efficiency, and performance through experimentation and tuning.
Stay up-to-date with the latest research and trends in AI, deep learning, and applied ML.
What you’ll bring
Essential:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
Hands-on experience in machine learning and neural network development.
Desire to work with Spiking Neural Networks and/or experience in Convolutional Neural Networks.
Proficient in Python and common ML libraries: TensorFlow, PyTorch, NumPy, etc.
Understanding of supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning techniques.
Experience with data engineering tools and version control (e.g. Git).
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
Desirable:
PhD in Machine Learning, Neuromorphic Computing, or a related field
Experience working in government, defence, or highly regulated industries with knowledge of relevant standards.
Experience in a variety of languages/modelling environments, such as C++, C#, Matlab, Simulink, CUDA, etc.
Experience in design and implementation of AI into hardware such as edge devices.
Confidence developing end-to-end solutions.
This is not an exhaustive list, and we are keen to hear from you even if you might not have experience in all the above. The most important skill is a good attitude and willingness to learn.
