• ~90 people, more than half in engineering, product and data
• 45+ advanced degrees across computer science, mathematics and operations research
• Thousands of data points captured, calculated, analysed and predicted for every parcel

Role Vision and Opportunity

As a highly operational business, Relay relies on data science to guide how every parcel moves through our network—from entry to doorstep delivery. We are looking for an exceptional Analytics Engineer to help build our data foundations. In this role, you will:

• Partner closely with engineers and business leaders to design and build Relay's core data models
• Work with Senior and Lead Analytics Engineers to own Relay's data infrastructure, including ingestion, ETL, data quality monitoring and data catalogue
• Collaborate with team members across every function and business area
• Spend time in the field to understand how data models map to the on-the-ground reality for couriers and end-consumers

Responsibilities

• Design and build Relay's core data models in collaboration with engineers and business leaders
• Own and evolve data infrastructure: ingestion, ETL, data quality monitoring, and data catalogue
• Collaborate across functions and business areas
• Field visits to align data models with real-world operations

Qualifications

• 3+ years in data, analytics, or engineering roles with demonstrated impact
• Strong SQL skills, with hands-on experience in BigQuery or PostgreSQL; capable of handling moderately complex data transformations
• Experience contributing to DBT models in production; understands modular, testable DAGs
• Proficient in Python for data cleaning, scripting, or light automation; comfortable with notebooks and reusable code
• Experience using Tableau (or similar) to support stakeholders with clean dashboards and analysis
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical teammates; able to gather requirements and flag trade-offs
• Hold a STEM degree or equivalent experience, with a strong appetite for learning
• + Bonus: experience in a data warehouse or core data models for an operational team or product area
