API Engineer (Python, FastAPI) - 2/3 days a week in London. numi are proud to be partnered with a technology company on a mission to make supply chains transparent and sustainable. They use earth observation and environmental monitoring to create a global data asset that will radically change how supply chain risk is managed. Our partner is a venture-backed, post-revenue company with a tight-knit founding team. This is a chance to join a high-growth startup and have a pivotal impact on the company’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Build the Engine: Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and secure RESTful APIs using Python, with a strong focus on FastAPI.
• Integrate Data: Build efficient data querying mechanisms from structured databases.
• Champion Best Practices: Uphold high standards for clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.

Qualifications

You are a seasoned API builder with a proven track record of shipping high-quality services. You have strong expertise in FastAPI and a deep understanding of how to build production-grade APIs used at scale.

Must Have: Strong expertise in Python and the FastAPI framework. Strong experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, including schema design and query optimization.

Nice to Have: Experience with data transformation tools like DBT. Proficiency with AI-powered development tools. Experience or interest in supply chain, agri-food tech, or geospatial platforms.
