Specialist Application Development Support Engineer

Location: Stratford, London (5 days on-site)

Salary: Up to £60,000 (depending on experience)

Security Clearance: Candidates must be eligible for DV clearance (sole British passport holder)

You’ll be part of a trusted engineering team supporting high-priority operational systems used in tackling serious organised crime and national security threats. The role provides exposure to modern tooling, direct collaboration with end users, and the chance to continuously develop your technical skillset across a broad tech stack.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support, maintain and enhance critical bespoke applications
• Incident management and troubleshooting across multiple domains
• Design and development of application functionality
• Virtual infrastructure administration
• Monitoring system health and performance
• Database administration and optimisation

Essential Skills:

• RedHat-based Linux (CLI)
• Docker (including Docker Swarm)
• SQL and relational databases
• Windows Server 2022
• Solid understanding of software development principles

Desirable Skills:

• Bash or PowerShell scripting
• NodeJS (TypeScript and React), Golang
• Python, Elasticsearch

Additional Information:

• This is a full-time, on-site role in Stratford (Monday to Friday)
• Candidates must hold or be eligible for SC clearance and willing to undergo DV clearance
• Applicants must be sole British passport holder due to the sensitivity of the project
• Previous experience in secure or government environments is beneficial but not essential
