Application Support Engineer - Southampton - £35-40k.

The Opportunity: This is a great opportunity for an Application Support Engineer to join a leading Southampton based organisation in a truly varied role. The team is well established and provide support to the wider business on all applications and business systems. You'll work on projects, deliver 2nd / 3rd line support, test new feature and enable the business to continue to operate effectively.

The Role: The team sits within the IT Department and acts as the primary interface between both internal & external customers, the development team and external software vendors. The role is provide analysis, support, testing and project support on a range of applications / business systems. The variety of work is huge and you'll be working a BAU task one day and then managing small projects the next. You will also be responsible for testing new software component, training users, writing documentation, specifying and building reports and investigation complex user queries.

The Person: Key to the role is the ability to really work closely with customers, solve problems and have an analytical background. Ideally you'll have worked as either an Application Support Engineer or Business Systems Analyst and be used to working in an environment where software products interlink / operate through EDI or APIs.

You'll have a technology background, an inquisitive mind and genuinely want to look at how systems can be improved to enable the business to operate more effectively. Any experience of building reports in PowerBI, Excel or with SSRS is an advantage.

The role is office based and the team are generally in 5 days a week with occasional flex so you need to be happy in an office based environment. Salary is £30-40k depending on experience. TPBN1_UKTJ
