A Quality Engineer makes sure that products are manufactured to the correct standards. Quality Engineers are often found in manufacturing but are essential to any business that produces business or consumer products, whether technological, chemical, or mechanical in nature. The following responsibilities are common to all Quality Engineers, no matter what sector they work in:Regularly assess the production systemReport and respond to production malfunctionsDetermine and communicate essential metrics for product qualityRecommend ways to improve product qualityIdentify technical issues in the production processIdentify technical issues with the productQuality Engineers will generally be expected to have a BSc in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering, or other relevant Engineering qualification. Being certified in Quality Assurance is also useful to have. Having good analytical skills, being a team player, and being able to communicate clearly are all important for a Quality Engineer. Being comfortable with problem-solving and statistical analysis are also essential skills to have.
