APPRENTICE THERMAL INSULATION ENGINEER

THE ROLE :

This is a great opportunity to join an established and well respected business as a Apprentice Thermal Insulation Engineer and gain specialist skills and qualifications in thermal insulation, with both on the job training formal off site training.

SALARY AND BENEFITS : This is an Apprentice role - £10.17 ph Year 1 , £13.71ph Year 2, £14.91 Year 3 and £15.31 ph Year 4 25 days of holiday + Bank Hols Mon to Fri schedule - 38 hours Comprehensive training and industry certifications Life insurance and personal accident insurance. TRAINING PROGRAMME: On-the-job training:

Learn alongside experienced team members. Block release training:

Two-week training blocks every three months at TICA (Darlington) over 18 months. Certification:

Industry-recognized qualifications and additional certifications such as CCNSG, COSHH, Abrasive Wheels, Manual Handling, and Confined Space. Qualification:

Full indentures awarded after four years of on-site experience. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : Install lagging and cladding on pipework, vessels, and ductwork to specification. Measure, cut, and fabricate insulation materials using tools such as knives, scissors, and saws. Secure insulation using fasteners, adhesives, and other methods. Inspect existing insulation systems and recommend repairs or replacements. Safely remove old or damaged insulation. Follow safety protocols and risk assessments. Maintain tools and equipment and keep accurate records of work completed. YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING :

PLEASE NOTE - DUE TO SITE ACCESS APPLICANTS MUST BE AGED 20 + Clean driving licence (essential). Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and a practical, hands-on approach. Ability to adapt to different environments (e.g., heights, confined spaces, and varying weather conditions). Willingness to travel and work away from home when required. Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team. Strong time management and problem-solving abilities. Ability to represent the company professionally on-site.
