ASIC/FPGA Design/Verification Engineer – Rolls-Royce

We are looking for an experienced ASIC/FPGA Designer or Verification Engineer to join our Complex Electronics Capability team in Solihull. This role offers the chance to work on cutting edge, safety-critical systems that power the future of aerospace and beyond.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Design and verify advanced digital electronics using FPGA or ASIC technologies, collaborating across disciplines to deliver high-performance solutions.
  • Develop complex digital ASIC/FPGAs using VHDL.
  • Develop complex testbenches in SystemVerilog and UVM test environments.
  • Develop timely and effective solutions for design and verification problems.
  • Integrate debugging designs and support teams to resolve issues.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Hands-on experience with VHDL, SystemVerilog and UVM, with a track record of delivering complex engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of platform interfaces, component technologies, system behaviour, verification vehicles, electrical design, system architecture, and development processes.
  • Prior demonstrable experience using implementation tools such as simulators, synthesis engines, STA tools, etc.
  • Strong experience independently developing complex testbenches in SystemVerilog and UVM environments.
  • Experience in writing, managing, and maintaining complex documentation and plans.
  • Experience in scripting with languages such as TCL, Python, Shell scripts.
  • Experience with version control such as Git and SVN.
