Assistant Asset Engineer – Network Rail
Location: London Stratford Place (this role is also being advertised to be based at Derby)
Salary: Circa £28,000 per annum (plus an Inner London Allowance of £3,270 per annum)

Responsibilities
- Support the application of asset management processes in accordance with functional policy to achieve financial and output targets.
- Schedule examinations, inspections, monitoring and assessment of assets and evaluate reports; implement mitigations where actions are deferred.
- Specify and prioritise actions to address defects and issues raised in reports; oversee development, implementation and handover of prioritised work items to enable required outputs.
- Produce route-specific and asset-type management regimes and progress mitigations if items are deferred.
- Undertake engineering analysis and risk assessments to support asset management, including business cases and whole life cost analysis.
- Monitor asset condition and failure precursors to inform examination, maintenance, strengthening, risk mitigation and renewal plans.
- Provide support to the specification and development of enhancement schemes and manage interfaces with network capability programmes.
- Determine mitigation actions to reduce the impact of adverse weather on asset performance.
- Maintain asset data in company systems and provide engineering support, including investigations of incidents.
- Review proposals from other disciplines or external organisations to identify potential synergies or conflicts.
- Monitor technical development of projects, ensure renewal requirements are sufficient, and assist with design approvals and certification.
Essential Qualifications
- HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
- Significant experience in a relevant engineering discipline
Desirable
- Incorporated Engineer
- Knowledge of relevant engineering policies and standards
- Understanding of safety management systems and risk assessment techniques
