This is an ideal role for a civil engineer seeking structured ICE approved training, broad project experience, and a clear path to career progression. As new skills are developed, you’ll take on more responsibility and move towards chartership / incorporation and promotion. You’ll be part of an in-house technical team of architects, engineers, and surveyors, working alongside your mentor, a Chartered Civil Engineer .The company offers real world experience that covers both detailed design, the management of the design process, ensuring you build rounded, practical knowledge that strengthens your future career prospects and sets you up for long-term success in the industry.

Responsibilities

  • You will gain practical experience in drainage and road infrastructure, from early feasibility and design through to detailed drawings and coordination.
  • During construction, you’ll make regular site visits, typically once a week across the South East, to check that specifications are being followed, to resolve any design-related issues, and to liaise with utility providers where needed.
  • The role includes ICE-approved training designed to help you achieve chartership or incorporation quickly, with mentoring and guidance built into your day-to-day work.

Experience Required

  • You should be an HND or degree-qualified civil engineer with at least 18 months’ design experience, including some exposure to drainage design.
  • You’ll need a working knowledge of AutoCAD and design software such as MicroDrainage, Causeway or Civils 3D.
  • The role involves regular coordination with other disciplines and stakeholders, so good teamwork and communication skills are important.
