OverviewWe\'re looking for an Assistant Engineer to join our Design team based in Salford. Hours: 37.5 per week, with some flexibility on hours available if desired; please indicate preferences when you speak to us.ResponsibilitiesProducing and checking coordinated drawings, design models, schedules and specifications within a quality assurance environment, checking and coordinating civil and structural design information with other technical disciplines, visiting building sites, carrying out site surveys and inspections, and visiting other Kier, consultant, and client offices on occasions to attend meetings.Preparing preliminary and detailed designs in accordance with approved design procedures for local and national authorities, supporting the engineers and senior engineers within the design team on various design duties including, but not limited to, production of design schedules, health, safety and welfare contract documentation in accordance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, and production of design drawings.Assisting in the delivery of technical and feasibility studies satisfying client\'s technical specifications, assessment of potential risks, materials, and costs, complying with Kier\'s and client guidelines and regulations including permits and safety.Delivering technical files and other technical documentation as required, conducting on-site investigations and analysing data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other).Contributing towards technical excellence and innovation across the team, assisting in the provision of innovative solutions to engineering problems.You hold relevant professional qualifications.Competent and a strong working knowledge of civil engineering design software such as AutoCAD.BenefitsCompetitive annual holiday entitlement with opportunities to buy/sell leave.Matched pension scheme.Share in Kier\'s success through Sharesave and Share Incentive Plans.Flexible hours (37.5 hours per week) with potential variations on request.Diversity & InclusionMaking Kier a diverse and inclusive place to work is a priority.
