OverviewGap Technical is partnering with a leading retailer to recruit an Assistant Engineer for a modern, high-tech distribution centre. Location: Stafford. Salary: £26,897 Per Annum. Roles involve 12 hour shifts covering days, nights & weekends.Role OverviewThe Assistant Engineer will provide both proactive and reactive support for all automated systems on site. You'll be working in a fast-paced environment where your efforts directly impact operational performance, equipment availability, and site productivity.Operational EngineeringRespond to conveyor system jams and stoppagesReset emergency stop buttons as requiredLog issues and complete maintenance records using computerised systemsPromote and maintain safe working practices, escalating H&S concerns as neededSupport continuous improvement initiatives by reporting recurring issues and suggesting solutionsEnsure high availability of equipment to support warehouse operationsConduct routine cleaning of automation equipment in line with hygiene standardsDesirable Qualifications & ExperienceBasic qualifications & computer literacyGood level of communicationUnderstanding of safe systems of workExperience with conveyor systemsExperience of planned preventative maintenance programmesExperience with MHE (Material Handling Equipment) / Automation systems and their technical components (Highly Desirable)How To ApplyTo apply, please send your CV via the Apply Now option.
