OverviewWe're looking for an Assistant Engineer to join our Design team based in Salford.Within this role, you can enjoy competitive annual holiday entitlement with opportunities to buy/sell leave, a matched pension scheme, a share in the success you help to create by investing in Kier through our Sharesave and Share Incentive Plans and even more.LocationSalford, Greater ManchesterHours37.5 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to usWhat will you be responsible for?As an Assistant Engineer, you'll be working within the Civil Engineering team, supporting them in producing highways designs, drawings, reports and supporting documentation in accordance with the brief, timescales and budgetary allocation.Your day to day will include:Producing and checking coordinated drawings, design models, schedules and specifications within a quality assurance environment, checking and coordinating civil and structural design information with other technical disciplines, visiting building sites, carrying out site surveys and inspections, visiting other Kier, consultant, and client offices on occasions to attend meetingsPreparing preliminary and detailed designs in accordance with approved design procedures for local and national authorities, supporting the engineers & senior engineers within the design team on various design duties including but not limited to, production of design schedules, health, safety and welfare contract documentation in accordance with the construction, design & management regulations 2015 and production of design drawingsAssisting in the delivery of technical and feasibility studies satisfying client's technical specifications, assessment of potential risks, materials, and costs, complying with Kier's & client's guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etcDelivering technical files and other technical documentation as required, conducting on site investigations and analyse data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other)Contributing towards technical excellence and innovation across the team, assisting in the provision of innovative solutions to engineering problemsWhat are we looking for?This role of Assistant Engineer is great for you if:You hold relevant professional qualificationsCompetent and a strong working knowledge of civil engineering design software e.g AutoCADRewards and benefitsWe're proud to be able to offer our brilliant people a wide variety of benefits that you can tailor to your needs.
