About the Company



We are currently seeking to recruit a highly motivated and pro-active individual to join our Projects Department as a Assistant Projects Control Engineer at our West Yorkshire sites.



About the Role



Reporting to the Head of Projects, the role is to assist in the planning, monitoring, and controlling of project activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion as well as contributing in tasks to support all sites with ICA equipment, ensuring that all aspects are executed efficiently, safely, and within budget and time constraints.



Responsibilities



  • Ensure compliance with health & safety policies and industry regulations.
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and monitoring technical engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to define project scope and objectives.
  • Support project delivery through technical input, quality control, and risk mitigation.
  • Provide hands-on support for ICA systems, including calibration, backups, and preventative maintenance.
  • Liaise with contractors and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Contribute to the development and modification of control systems (PLC, SCADA, HMI).



Qualifications



  • Apprentice-trained or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.



Required Skills



  • Strong knowledge of control wiring, instrumentation, and communication protocols (e.g., Profinet, Modbus, Profibus).
  • Experience with analogue/digital signal wiring and control panel modifications.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical drawings.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and project management tools.



Preferred Skills



  • Familiarity with PLC, SCADA, HMI systems and server/network management.
  • Experience supporting legacy equipment and implementing resilience strategies.
