You'll be working across a portfolio of projects across the UK, focusing on rail, highways and water as well as the opportunity to support across different sectors and our projects across the globe.Your key responsibilities will be:Managing and coordinating delivery of your disciplines work to time and budget, ensuring a high standard of technical quality and compliance with our internal management systems across the entire project lifecycle from feasibility to detailed design, including site supervision where required.Production of drainage designs, assessments and checking others work, including preparation or checking of models, calculations, written reports, specifications and other contract deliverablesEnsuring that design, assessments and checking of designs are in accordance with the current Standards, Codes of Practice and Best PracticeSupervising a team of engineers and technicians, mentoring, and developing less experienced engineers and technicians within your project teams, working with line managers to maximise training and development opportunities.Developing and maintaining Client relationships through your project work, including identifying and realising any potential business opportunitiesAssisting with the preparation of bids and tenders and supporting the Directors in pursuing business development opportunitiesYour skills. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.On top of that, you’ll have:Achieved Chartered Engineer (C.Eng) status with experience working on multi-disciplinary projects.Experience in a railway design and build environment or on highways drainage design, including understanding engineering interdependencies across the project life cycleEvidence of undertaking previous CRE(Drainage) roles under the Engineering Management for Project standard (NR/L2/RSE/02009) would be advantageous for our Rail projectsEvidence of leading teams and working in multi-disciplinary projects in rail, highways, or water sectors.Skilled analytical ability and a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals, current design standards and the latest drainage design tools and softwareExperience of undertaking or specifying drainage surveysExperience of catchment analysis, hydraulic design, pumping station design and legislative requirementsThe ability to communicate effectively and professionally with the design team, clients and contractorsGood team leadership skills with the ability to support, mentor and develop less experienced engineersA sound understanding and experience in the application of the CDM Regulations and risk assessment process including knowledge of current standards and legislation, including application of the Common Safety MethodFull UK Driving LicenseA place to work and so much more.At COWI, we work together with our customers to shape a sustainable and liveable world.
