Your Role
A Little More About Your Role…
- Meeting the requirements of an 'Associate' grade and having a proven track record in both leading projects for your discipline and for an overall project team. Be able to demonstrate where your input has led to the commission being won or successfully delivered.
- Work in a joint leadership capacity within a mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) discipline team, providing design and technical advice with a multidisciplinary approach on a wide range of projects.
- Work with initiative with minimal supervision on technical aspects of the discipline or have specific specialist experience applicable to the role.
- Interpret client needs and deliver to meet full delivery requirements of the project.
- Supervise the completion of detailed designs and supervise others in this function.
- Consider project feasibility specific to the discipline and lead the overall feasibility study for the project.
- Direct production of detailed and performance specifications for the discipline, subject to review by colleagues prior to issue.
- Review design programmes and ensure sufficient resources are available to complete the works.

- You will work closely with likeminded individuals on exciting and challenging multidisciplinary projects.
- The Building Services team in the Northern Region (Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh) consists of more than 50 Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health engineers.
- Supported by local, regional and international experts along with an extensive technical library and specifications.

- You will be based in Newcastle or Teesside, offering easy commuting options and free car parking amenities.
Key Technical Requirements
- Understanding of UK and European regulations applicable to the discipline and how to demonstrate this in project execution.
- Working understanding of latest electrical design software to allocate/direction of work on projects.
- Understanding of Revit MEP or other 3D design software for project direction.
- Ability to sketch and communicate technical detail graphically and effectively.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD for project direction.
- Proven track record in local business development.
- Must be able to obtain UK vetting level of Security Check (SC).

- Low voltage distribution systems
- Low voltage standby generation
- UPS systems
- Cable calculations (via software and by hand)
- Lighting calculations (via software and by hand)
- Small power
- Fire alarms
- Intruder detection
- Access control & security systems
- Disabled call systems
- Data cabling and outlets
- Lightning protection
Qualifications
- BEng/BSc/MEng in applicable engineering discipline
- CIBSE / IET / Engineering Council accredited honours degree or specific experience that will lead to Chartership
- Working towards IEng or CEng status
- RevitMEP training applied to the discipline
